Deluge by Beat

An ambient supply of texture samples comes in ModeAudio‘s 2GB Deluge package. There are 75 Atmospheres and 46 Drones to discover. The textures and drones often remind of cosmic, often threatening sounding environments, but they always evoke tension. Distances and the localization in the stereo image are experimented with nicely. No less fascinating are the atmospheres, which can last for more than a minute. The rhythmic loops are glitchy, granular and oversaturated, but they only make up a small part with their 19 elements. 

The whole thing is completed by 50 sound effects, which sometimes sound resonance-heavy, laser-like, discordant and occasionally watery. Pulsating bass fragments and objects diving into spherical winds are also included.

Verdict

Deluge bundles atmospheres of a special kind that sound mystical, hypnotic and even cosmic. The sound effects are highly recommended for cinematic applications.
