Density is one of the latest sample packs in ModeAudio's stable of high quality production tools for electronic music artists. Focusing on ambience, drones and stabs, it contains over 150 sounds, weighing in at nearly 1GB of data.
There's excellent material here for producers of any style that requires articulate textures and emotive landscapes or just the odd unique sound effect. It's an obvious pick for downtempo or ambient music, but even the more experimental side of hiphop, house, or techno would benefit with these sounds.
Let's take a look at what's included:
- 50 Tonal Texture Loops
- 30 Ambient Texture Loops
- 30 Granular Texture Loops
- 10 Sub Bass Loops
- 30 FM Drone Samples
- 50 Synth Stab Samples
The tonal texture loops range from brooding, melancholy, and hopeful. While there's a good variety of feels here they do lean more towards darker states.
Ambient texture loops follow a similar vein as the prior bunch but with more, well density and volume. Here you'll find more uplifting chords and brighter harmonics that help balance out the more sombre tonal samples.
Appearing next are granular samples. As expected, these are glitchy in nature that still retain some of the feel of the previous sounds, just mangled taking them to other places sonically.
A small collection of subs also take a similar path of the tonal and texture sounds, but focus on a deeper, weightier direction.
FM synthesis plays a part in the next line-up of sounds with samples that incorporate robotic qualities at times and cold precision in others. There's some great evolving percussion material, hits, SFX and more.
Lastly, we arrive at the stab folder. Whether you need to make a sharp point in a particular section of a song or are looking for a 90's rave type vibe the variation of stabs here should serve you well.
Overall a great collection once again from ModeAudio, you can learn more about the Density sample pack right here.
