Dissolve by Soundbytes

Dissolve is a slick cinematic/drone sample library from ModeAudio that is inspiring as well as intense. It consists of 200 atmospheric samples that ModeAudio calls “rich, smooth, eerily evocative and colorful”.

Dissolve’s main appeal is the carefully-crafted 125 drone samples that are 5 – 23 seconds in length. These are perfect for cinematic beds or background soundscapes for ambient compositions. They can also be looped endlessly using a sampler (e.g., Reason’s NN-XT) so that you can play it as an instrument in different key ranges. 

Better yet, load them in Kontakt and create complex, dense ambient drones utilizing Kontakt’s superb mixing and processing engine. The samples, of course, sound great on their own, but if you’re like me, I’d rather manipulate them to introduce my own flair. 

Though only 537 MB, Dissolve is a good resource of samples for use in cinematic scores, TV & film, trailer, ambient projects and game music. A well-constructed library.
