Drum Collider by Reason Expert

Are you looking to expand your drum collection with some hard-hitting experimental drum hits? Then you might want to check out the Drum Collider refill by ModeAudio. Drum Collider brings you 10 full drum kits for Propellerhead's Kong that will grace your audio projects with punchy drums and far out percussion.

The kits included with Drum Collider take full advantage of Kong's internal drum modules and effects. Because of this you are able to open up each drum hit and tweak the sounds to your heart's desire. You aren't tied to the limitation of audio samples so you can pretty much tailor each kit to work seamlessly with the track that you're working on.

However there are a few audio samples included in the ReFill but these are used alongside Kong's built in modules to bring an extra layer of expression to the drum sounds. They're more of a utility than a necessity.

After spending some time and playing around with the kits on my MPD I was pretty impressed, the sound of the drums are superb and you can tell that there was a lot of creativity involved during the sound design process. I did find that some of the levels are a bit off, but I'm chalking that up to personal preference rather than an actual fault with this pack.

I'll be checking out a few more of ModeAudio's refills in the coming weeks and I'm hoping to be as pleased with them as I am with Drum Collider.
