Electric Boogie by Computer Music
*The following review appeared in print issue 303 of Computer Music Magazine.
490MB collection of retro dance loops, full of flashes of forgotten freestyle flavours, and more than a touch of that crucial 80s electro vibe – think the Fun House club in New York on a Friday, and “Jellybean” Benitez is trying to lure an unknown Madonna onto the floor, where she’ll stay all night.
And why not? The funky synth riffs and drum machine programming here are strictly on that good time rhythm. And woven out of Linn looms, and other iconic machines you’d have killed for, back-in-the-day.
