ModeAudio‘s 1.8 GB sound archive,
Flood, specializes in ambient drones
and textures. The range of sample
duration from one second to almost
three minutes is very large. The 189
samples are composed of Textures (41), Drones (37), Atmosheres (18), Basses
/ Subbasses (49) and Short Sound Effects (44). The atmospheric sounds and
textures are particularly appealing, among which there are common monotonous machine-like drones, as well as backward granulated synthetic water
splashing to violent storms. As for sound effects, there are short splashes, mystical cracking in stalactite caves, filtered shadowy figures, electroscans and
other whimsical sounds.
Flood is characterized by high-quality, multi-faceted drones, some of which are
very complex. The creative scope is inspiring for merging innovative soundscapes into one another when dubbing games or films via layering.
