Friction by Soundbytes

ModeAudio has released Friction, a 2 GB collection of stellar ambient samples. The focus of this pack is to give producers and desktop musicians alike a set of cinematic drones and textures to use in ambient, soundscapes, cinematic, soundtrack and experimental electronica productions. 

These samples are primed for use in TV, film, web media, trailer and game music as well. Friction contains a total of 202 samples, recorded in 44.1 kHz/24 bit with rhythm samples rendered between 70-120 BPM. The samples range from 4 seconds to 2.51 minutes in length. The longer samples are great for backgrounds or beds for drone compositions. 

The 43 bass samples are surprisingly good and are delivered “drone-y” and effected (at least as far as the ones I auditioned). They suit the genre really well. The 35 rhythm samples are energetic and reminiscent of never-a-dull-moment between bars. Of all the samples on offer, I like the texture samples the most. They are very solid and interesting to say the least. Well, what can I say? This is another solid release from ModeAudio. Friction is sonically vibrant that will enhance your journey to the ambient realm.
