Grid Racer by Soundbytes

This new electronic sample library from ModeAudio is primarily focused on arpeggiated sounds, moving synth basses, retro pads and cool lead lines. As the name suggests, Grid Racer (think Tron movie) offers producers, musicians and electronica aficionados a nice set of synthwave and retrowave materials to augment into their productions. 

This sound pack from ModeAudio weighs in at 470 MB, comprising 412 files including 121 MIDI loops (key and tempo labeled). The samples were made using various synthesizers, analog gear, digital polish and custom effects processing to bring you that spot-on, inspiring retro sound. When I auditioned the loops, I found that this library truly captures the retrowave genre. 

It’s very rich, warm and has the depth of 80’s style and sound. I find the arp loops and other phrases including the synth melodies very useful. These phrases are very handy if you ran out of ideas or need an inspiration to start a track. The vintage-flavored drum loops and drum hits are also good, as they were programmed to fit in other genres such as house, electro-pop and minimal. 

The quality is good throughout and there are many materials to choose from. There are many standouts in this collection but I’m really digging the synth loops as they sound very polished.
