Welcome back to another exciting instalment in our guest video tutorial series from our resident production guru, Flying Soulo! This time, our man has decided to dive into the virtually limitless creative world of Ableton Live, detailing an easy-to-implement technique for creating your own custom, multiband effects presets.
By using Live's excellent audio effects rack device, which acts like a plugin wrapper or container of sorts, we can separate out an incoming audio signal into different frequency bands using the native EQ3 plugin, moving on to setting up different effects chains for processing each band separately. This provides a much greater degree of control over the input sound, than when applying processing to the entire frequency spectrum at once.
