Our first ever collection of analog drum machine samples committed to reel-to-reel magnetic tape, this pack of 348 royalty-free sound files delivers the unparalleled punch and definition of modern synthesis, married with the coveted, much sought after warmth and crunch of vintage circuitry.

This pack represents the debut appearance of our early 1970s Akai 1720W reel-to-reel tape machine, a gorgeously retro, wood panelled unit fitted with the highest quality TDK analog tape.

To begin with, we extensively sampled the richly versatile Vermona DRM1 hardware drum machine, plus a few other toys, crafting a thumping, pumping selection of 228 kicks, 808s, snares, claps, hi hats, toms, shakers and percussion samples.

These 'clean' sounds where then fed into the Akai tape recorder, with levels carefully set to just push the hits into the red for added warmth, crunch and that unmistakably rich transient snap that vintage reel-to-reel technology is renowned for.

The resulting set of 117 analog tape drum sounds is deep, punchy and coated in tape grit and character, perfect for the 7 Hip Hop, Trap and House drum kit sampler patches we've organised them into for your favourite DAW sampler.
