ModeAudio has launched Beat Scenics, a collection of 120 groovy LA beat scene inspired audio loops and drum one shots with an additional bonus set of MIDI sequences. Beat Scenics features 120 audio loops in 24-bit WAV format, organized into drum loops, basslines, percussion, SFX, instruments, and synth loops. Each drum loop comes with up to three beat variations and a fill loop, so they're pretty much ready for use as the rhythmic backbone of your new tune. Having all these different versions of a single drum loop is a very nice touch, since many loop libraries out there only contain short 4-bar drum loops without any variations or fills.

Another cool thing about Beat Scenics is that the loops are grouped into construction kits, so each drum loop comes with an accompanying bassline, instrument loop, percussion loop, etc. You can combine these elements any way you like of course, but it's nice to have a collection of loops which fit together perfectly. It's kind of like having the stem tracks for a remix.

The included loops range from 80 BPM to 135 BPM and they sound very nice in general, nailing that chill LA beat scene feel perfectly. My favorites of the bunch are the drum loops and especially the SFX sequences which sound absolutely great!

That's definitely not everything you'll find in the Beat Scenics download pack though, because it also includes a nice range of drum shots in 24-bit WAV format and an additional set of MIDI sequences. There are 30 drum hits and 43 MIDI sequences in the pack, making a nice set of bonus content to go along with the audio loops.

All things considered, the price of £15 is more than fair for a loop library of this type. With 193 individual items and over 400 MB in size, Beat Scenics provides a nice collection of inspirational audio material for your hip hop and urban productions.
