When it comes to sample packs and synth presets, there’s a lot on offer these days. I reckon it must be quite hard for sound designers to get noticed, but whenever I see another ModeAudio sound pack I know it’s going to be something interesting.

If you’re familiar with ModeAudio’s catalog, you’ll know that they are no stranger to ambient and experimental sounds. Their seventh sound pack for the free Vital software synthesizer delivers a fresh batch of sounds that are useful for everything from subtle soundtrack sound design to immersive, deeply textured Ambient music.

So what do I think?

This is not a bread and butter-type sound pack, so you won’t find any simple bass or lead presets here. While there are quite a few beautiful musical sounds in the pack (as you can hear in the demo), a good part of Panomara is more on the experimental side. Unique sequences, intricate moving pads, and plenty of textures.

Another collection of stunning patches, full of creative sound design. Every other preset sounds like nothing I’ve ever heard before. If you’re looking for something new and distinctive to add to your Vital library, you should definitely consider Panorama.
